Mnyakongo Primary School

Kongwa

Tanzania

Headmistress

The Mnyakongo Primary School was opened as a state school by the Tanzanian Government in 1961.

The school has 821 students, 398 boys and 423 girls and has 21 streams. There are 35 teachers.

Because there are so many students half of them are taught in the morning and the other half in the afternoon.

The school has recently twinned with Waltham St Lawrence Primary School in Reading England.

Ms Angelina Munduli
One of the classrooms at the time of our visit.
There was an acute shortage of desks and teachers' tables and chairs.
And now there are some new desks and tables and chairs.
Below are pictures of some of the staff.
World map - good for geography lessons!
