We owe a great debt of gratitude to Aurelio and Pauline, without whom we would never have been able to get anything like the result that we finally achieved, although some of our group still remembered some Swahili it would not have been enough for this challenge.

Before we set off on our adventure Aurelio made contact with the school’s head teacher Angelina , and established a wish list and found out that there was a carpentry college nearby that could make the desks for the school and this formed the basis of our plan.

Although we would have managed to communicate to some extent without Aurelio we would not have forged the bonds and gained the depth of understanding and commitment that we all experienced at that time. I hope that Aurelio also gained something special from the trip.
